Yes, Nepal has specific regulations regarding vehicle imports:

  • Diesel vehicles over 2000cc are restricted
  • Petrol vehicles over 3000cc are restricted
  • Vehicles older than 5 years cannot be imported
  • Right-hand drive vehicles are prohibited
  • Certain luxury vehicles may have additional restrictions

  • 1001-1500cc: 100% customs duty + 13% VAT
  • 1501-2000cc: 180% customs duty + 13% VAT
  • Above 2000cc: 240% customs duty + 13% VAT
  • Electric vehicles: 10% customs duty + 13% VAT (with incentives)
